It should be noted that even a brand new sealed vinyl record may have some surface noise due to static charge, residues of pressing machine release agents, or even paper dust from the inner sleeve.
I recommend that all new records are cleaned with a good quality anti static cleaner before playing
Seconhand Vinyl Records
All records are supplied in a new polythene outer sleeve
I use the UK Record Collector Magazine grading system (the equivalent "Goldmine" grades are shown in brackets)
M Mint (M) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EX Excellent (NM/M-) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VG Very Good (VG+/VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G Good (VG-/G+): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
I do not sell any records graded below Good - unless they are exceptionally rare.
Grading is usually visual - although the more expensive items are play graded.
I like to err on the side of caution, but I occasionally make mistakes, and will refund accordingly if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
HiFi and Record Players
Unless stated all my products are pre-owned and must therefore be assumed to have been used - at least once.
Cosmetic condition is graded on a scale of 1 - 10. It is very rare for any pre-owned item to be graded 10/10. I don/t sell anything graded below 5/10.
All items are sold as tested and fully working and fit for purpose. However mechanical tolerances and audio output level may not match the the original technical specifications.
All electrics are tested for safety and function, and unless stated otherwise all electrical components are original.
Unless stated otherwise all items are configured to operate on a UK mains supply - 220/240 volts 60Hz. AC.
